Mt. Sanitas

I rode my bike about 10 minutes west of my apartment and arrived at the base of the Mt. Sanitas trail.  Hiked one hour up to 6,863 ft. and had some pretty amazing views!

Make Music Denver

Make Music Denver is a one day festival of free concerts in Downtown Denver
taking place in late June.  Music is performed by anyone who wants to play and enjoyed by everyone that shows up.  It's a "worldwide celebration of free music." To gear up for the big event, several pianos have been scattered around the city.  Gotta love it!

Louisville, CO

A group of us headed out to Louisville, CO tonight for the first Movie in the Park event of the summer.  It had been such a beautiful afternoon so we were all looking forward to spending the night outdoors!  Although we all had a GREAT time, the night didn't turn out exactly as planned.  There were about 10 food trucks at the park so we hopped in line at Manna Food Truck, a Vietnamese place named Best Gourmet Truck in Colorado, before the movie started.  Apparently everyone had the same idea as us, and 3 hours later, we were still waiting for our food.  And by then, it had turned from absolutely beautiful, to completely stormy.  Let's just say we were all a bit wet!  The truck was kind enough to pass out and refill cups of chai tea or hot chocolate while we waited and I must say the food was worth the wait!  Oh, and the movie....we only saw about one or two minutes from afar!  Fortunately, we all had a great sense of humor and laughed the entire way home.  We will try again.  But next time, we will bring a picnic and pack some snow gear just in case.

Sweet Ride

Don't you wish you could be cool enough to drive this fancy red Prius around town?  Visited my new friend Ian in Denver today and got to drive this car from the car share program. It was a busy evening looking for an apartment to rent in August. Yes, I just moved, and am already busy looking for my next place!

300 Days of Sunshine

I read the following quote on almost every Colorado tourism website
I came across in the past few months.

"Nearly 300 sunny days a year--more annual days of sunshine than either San Diego or Miami Beach"

Well I have officially been here for 7 days and 3 of them have been rainy!
I might have just arrived on a bad week but I am waiting for those 300 days to start soon.

My roommate told me there was a show on the Weather Channel
called It Could Happen Tomorrow.  One episode focused on
Colorado Flash Floods & warned everyone to get out of Boulder when the rain starts!

Roommate

I lucked out and happened to get such a great roommate.  Allison, originally from Minnesota, just graduated from CU Boulder with her degree in architecture.  We have gone grocery shopping together, took a walk around town, went to happy hour at Boulder Cafe and even took the bus to Denver's Coors Field with 10 friends for the Rockies v Giants game last night.

University

In just a few days, I will begin a Bar Exam Review course held at the University of Colorado Boulder.  I biked up to campus this morning and absolutely loved the it!

Boulder, CO

Although I haven't found much time this week to be a tourist, I did take a few pictures of downtown Boulder to share with everyone.

Pearl Street is a four block pedestrian mall in the heart of downtown
filled mostly with locally owned businesses and restaurants.

Just off Pearl Street, you can find Colorado's largest farmer's market every
Wednesday night and Saturday morning.  There are 150 stands of
vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, wine, pastries, plants and more!

My favorite part of Boulder is the biking culture!  Colorado was recently rated the SECOND most bike-friendly state and Boulder came in THIRD on list of most bike-friendly cities.
As a pulled up to a bike rack the other day and attempted to squeeze into a spot, a guy
commented that it is "getting hard to find parking these days."  Bike parking that is!

Oh, and you think you need a car to make a trip to Target with your four kids!?  Guess again....

Moving Day!

Monday, May 13 was moving day!  I arrived in Boulder, Colorado late Monday afternoon and have been busy ever since.  After making countless trips to Target, Safeway, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc., I am finally settled into my new place.  Here are a few pictures!
